Why is it that Cleveleys is always, and I mean always, absolute roadworks hell?

Yes! Roadworks! In Cleveleys!

Yes! Roadworks! In Cleveleys!

Every time I approach the junction with Victoria Road, there are bollards, lane closures and utility companies putting more and more pipes in. You’d think they were building some sort of secret Hadron collider below the tea rooms on The Crescent West.

This is whats going on below Bettys Tea Rooms on Victoria Street West

Below Bettys Tea Rooms, yesterday

And today for added comedy value, I was coming back to Blackpool from Fleetwood and people were turning off Rossall Road, driving around the queueing traffic, then coming back to Rossall Road at the Rough Lea Road roundabout so you have to let them out unless there’s oncoming traffic. The result being you end up sat there forever.

More queues to the rear

More queues behind me

As an added extra annoying bonus, there are even more roadworks once you have passed Victoria Road West.

  1. I’m trying to work out what car that is… I had it down to a Nissan 350Z or a Civic, but neither quite fit the profile :/

Given the colour, I’d have gone with the Nissan.

    • Which one goes into Blackpool centre? Or remotely close to where I live?

The closest tram stop to my house would be Starr Gate, but that would be around a 3 mile walk so it’d take the best part of 45 minutes each way. I can be in Lancaster or Preston in the car in less time than that.

In spite of the roadworks, I beat that tram in the pic to Gynn Square anyway and from that point it didn’t go anywhere near where I wanted.
