Exit factor

This weekend we saw Blackpool warbler Stacey McClean ejected from the X Factor, declaring, “I’m heartbroken” before boarding the plane back to Lancashire.

The strangely coloured singer, 20, blurted out a Britney Spears number before the final insult of being told you’re not very good by musical failure Dannii Minogue.

But still, the Gasjet is full of praise, labelling McClean a “sensation” and a “star”. I’d disagree. She’s not a bad singer but she’s just too normal. But at least she can sing in tune, which is more than I can say for that irritating manufactured girl group containing that fat rapper.

That’s the problem with these shows; everyone fuels your dreams only so you can fall further. Stacey was never going to win the X Factor – the judges knew that when they gave her four “yes” votes, I knew that, the audience knew that. You have to have an image and McClean didn’t, although her choice of tune in the live audition was good so that probably aided her.

Lucie Jones (that little Welsh girl) has a good chance because she looks all sweet and innocent and her voice accompanies that image. Then you have that black girl with the Rihanna hair cut that wont win but will probably get through a few rounds. Problem is all black girls sound the same and I don’t think Simon wants more of them competing with Leona Lewis. That happened with Alexandra Burke winning it last year and look how many tunes she has released.

  1. I don’t think Alexandra boring Burke deserved to win last year. I think Lancashire’s own Diana was much better and different. I have to agree all the black girls sound the same. They all come on the live shows and do Whitney and Mariah every bloody week and its so boring. My moneys on the Over 25s this year some real characters there, the groups are just dire this year.
