The Gasjet has printed the same story about late 80′s Wizbit star Paul Daniels as it did a few weeks ago.
Credit to the Blackpool Magicians Club for getting stuck in and banning him from all future magic events in the town.
A few Paul Daniels lovers on the Gasjet comments are suggesting that because he is a millionaire then that qualifies him to say whatever he likes and for it to be taken as truth.
Well, he is entitled to his opinion and I would side with him on his comments that the town is tacky (which residents don’t know that), but Paul Daniels the celebrity mouthpiece is just irrelevant to modern society. Nobody is interested in Paul Daniels or his missus: his career has an affinity with Blackpool – it has declined just as rapidly in recent years.

You beat me to it Phil, I was going to say that, how his pathetic career has declined and he slags us off. Its like that unfunny twat Jim Davidson who famously and publicly attacked Blackpool several times. Its funny how these idiots seem to have a penchant for slagging seaside towns off when they are about the only places that will book these washed-up has beens. Hopefully it will kill Daniel’s career off even quicker now he won’t even be able to get children’s birthday parties. Maybe seaside towns are in such a state also is because successive Governments pump all the money into the ‘big cities’ leaving places like Blackpool to rot.

Paul Daniels quite often talks bollox. I personally think he is sad old old man who has no freinds left because he has upset them all but thats bye the bye. On Blackpool, Daniels has only said what anyone with a brain and a pair of eyes would say. He has every right to say what he said. He was, one of our most popular entertainers for a couple of decades. He has been a leading light in the magic for decades and his opinion should count.
I too believe that the best way to deal with people like him is to challenge him to come along and see for himself what excellent facilities we have here. Thing is, we can’t do that because Blackpool doesn’t have first class facilities so why is everyone trying to shoot the messenger???
Blackpool will never change as long as people refuse to see its failings.

Its not about that idiot Paul Daniels this post but I though I’d post here before some equally lowlife moron deletes it on the Gasjet.
Excellent letters re; Marc Etches, I always thought the casinos were a ridiculous idea they destroyed Atlantic City and while I don’t disgree with gambling I don’t want major scale gambling in my hometown, it would attract the wrong sort of people. I also hate the ‘last chance saloon’ comments, but it was not just Mr Etches with that attitude there was Steve Weaver, Alan Cavill and the man who destroyed Blackpool; Roy Fisher who were making similar silly remarks. Talking Blackpool down all the time pitching for the sympathy vote. But what really annoyed me is how objections and concerns about the casino had the door slammed on them by Fisher and Weaver. Also opportunities for a Plan B were pushed away for fear of putting off the Casino Panel. Thankfully Fisher is gone, we need to get Weaver and Cavill out now replace them with people who actually believe in Blackpool.
