Today it was revealed that the Council are planning to revamp Crystal Road.
Right.
I heard this somewhere before in an almost identical article in the Gasjet last July.
So why reannounce a plan, particularly when you’re supposed to be bulldozing the area by 2025?
Well, this time the Council have named a suite of expensive consultants that we’re paying for, and Cllr Robert Wynne has come out with some rhetoric which I have to say is a bit far fetched.
“Theoretically those should be some of the best Blackpool streets to live in”
Okay Rob, I’ll bite. So would you move there then? No you wouldn’t.
Why not? Because it’s a shit area.

Blame Gordon. Not for the idea to turn loss making guest houses into nice little profitable house developments but for announcing “news” several times. That makes the people think you are doing lots, rather than the truth that you are promising the same thing you did last year and still haven’t actually done. Maybe the plan is to keep announcing this policy without doing it until they do actually knock the whole area down? If that’s the case, at least taxpayers’ money won’t be wasted.

But you still have not said who you would like to see stand in Fairhaven
For local elections anyone that isn’t a “Conservative” that will only do what they are told to by John Coombes and I’m fed up with Kevin Eastham too – as long as they generally want to do good for the area (and aren’t Labour or BNP because they won’t have a hope) then any other party that’s here – so independents (who really are independents, Lib Dems, Ratepayers, UKIP ) – out of those 4 I think any reasonable non-looney candidate with a decent election strategy would get in. However Bob Fielding a local Lib Dem got in at Parish level – and the County election wasn’t all that far off a Lib Dem recovery so I think as long as they don’t keep going on about improving housing for everyone (not appropriate in this ward as we just pay for everyone else without getting any help ourselves) I think they have a very good chance.
