Copper complacent about shooting up

by Philtheone @ 5:05 pm

The divisional commander of police for Blackpool and Fylde today insisted that his officers are on top of the local boom in drugs crime despite Home Office figures showing an increase of almost 50%.

In a spin laden defence of the indefencible, teflon-coated Chief Superintendent Richard Debicki claimed that the rise is down to increased detection rather than a rise in actual offences.

It’s not the first time Debicki has had fingers pointed at him.

In September last year, he was under the cosh from local residents as complaints were levelled about his policing policy, lack of attention to drunk and disorderly behaviour, slow responses to 999 callouts and a lack of officers on the beat.

His response?

“We can’t be everywhere all the time.”

Lol, I am no big fan of our useless police. We can’t be everywhere at once? When I am on the ward taking someone’s blood pressure and a patient collapses at the other end of the ward I don’t stand there saying ‘I can’t be everywhere at once’ every member of staff on the ward will dash over and help. If I had a pound everytime I have heard of people reporting a burglary where the police have took 3 or 4 days to respond and then they are there in minutes with blue lights when a householder clouts a burglar to defend himself and the homeowner is arrested.

My suggestions to improve the police; give them better training to learn to treat the public with respect and toughen up the very lax entry requirements, scrap useless PCSOs, end the double standards culture and most of all exercise common sense. Like don’t arrest a homeowner for beating up a burglar when they pose a threat to their life and family.

well said TB, the laws on self defence are wrong.

    Check out this article http://uk.news.yahoo.com/4/20100124/tuk-barrister-slams-tory-law-change-plan-dba1618.html

If this is supposedly the QC who represent Mr Hussain then I think he has answered his own question. Mr Hussain was wrongly jailed because the courts and the judge cocked up proving the courts system cannot be trusted. I am very happy to hear the Conservatives have almost definitely said changes in the law on self-defence are on the way. Now Brown is trying to jump on the bandwagon, but if anyone believes Liebour after 13 years of lies and spin then we are doomed to years of repeats of the Hussain case.

yes the conservatives have a good policy there, I just wished DC went on to rid us of the PC brigade etc

Who knows just before the election he may address immigration and the PC/risk averse/claim/non personal responsibility/welfarism/state driven multicultralism/elf & safety culture with serious vigour.

If he does and he provides robust policies to excrete this PC (liebour) cancer from our society, he WILL most certainly get my vote.

    I await his response, lol.

  7. The police are useless at catching drug dealers around here. For a start they refuse to listen to anyone who reports any street dealing as they’re not interested. But if they did at least note down who might be suspicious they might be able to investigate things more usefully as it all builds a bigger picture. How many crimes are committed (not just drugs) where people tried to report things and were just dismissed. It’s about time they took intelligence gathering seriously. No-one expects them to go around arresting people merely on their say-so but they do expect them to take some notice.
