Feb 282010

This month has seen yet more growth for my website with 3940 visits compared with 3095 last month.

Page views were up dramatically with 18731 views compared with 12482, and there were more unique visitors; up from 739 to 872. I’m not sure where these extra visitors are hearing about the site as I don’t actively advertise it (through laziness mainly) but I’m very pleased that there’s content on here that people want to read.

The busiest days were the Tuesday the 2nd, Saturday the 6th, Wednesday the 17th and Monday the 22nd; each having 840-930 page views.

If you’ve read any of my previous statistics updates, you will know that visits from London tend to be equal with number of visits from Blackpool. This month sees views from Blackpool surge ahead, with 21.4% of overall visits. Manchester sourced 11.6% and London came in with 11.4%.

The most popular article was New political party? (more on this in a forthcoming article by the way), followed closely by Blubbing Gordon aims to win hearts and minds and Two jobsworths out, plenty more to go.

I am aware that a few people are searching for phrases such as, “true blackpudlian address”, “philtheone address” and “blackpool nurse nhs true blackpudlian”. Also strangely, “zimflyer rock god”. Are you? :-P

I’d like to think the continued growth is down to the acquisition of True Blackpudlian as a guest author as well as a more compatible, typographically improved layout: any views are welcomed on this.

I can’t report too much in terms of new site features, though I might attempt to make the side bars look less cluttered. As you will have noticed I’ve resized the comments text in the last couple of days. If you are finding it to be too small then please leave a comment here. If there’s anything you’d like to see let me know about that too.

Quick note to Harold – when’s your site going to appear? I need to feel the rage

  1. Good to hear it Phil, I am glad to see the site is doing well. I don’t know why some sad pathetic idiots are trying to track me down, I do live in Blackpool and I have never ever given any reason for people to suspect otherwise, and I will not be revealing my address at any point it is my personal information and these psychos have no right to know it. If anybody does try and find me I will take very serious action, that is a warning to these loons.

But rant aside, all the best Phil, I am glad to see the site is becoming evermore popular.

  2. PS I like the ‘Recent Comments’ feature as it shows when posts have been made on old articles and keeps the debate alive. I think it is an excellent feature.

Great news though Phil about the site, Blackpool has needed this online community for sometime and you are very much carrying on the good work started by NQH.

          • Definitely the No.1 site; No pro-Labour bias, no unfair censorship, true freedom of speech, friendly comments and interesting articles in short it is everything the Gasjet isn’t.

  7. Congrats on the rise in hits Phil. You can count me in as a new regular reader anyway, that’s for sure.

Any site with no left leaning bias is a winner in my book :P

    • Some of the stuff in the first post just disgusts me and I can safely say I will never ever vote UKIP after reading it.

      • It seems the party has been hijacked by those obsessed with the smoking ban.

It’s a real shame as their true message independence for the UK is being diluted by it.

        • It goes deeper than that – those that are funding UKIP are only doing so on the basis that UKIP serves their political goals.

“Cash for Policy”, if you like.

          • That’s the same for most political parties though Phil, just look at all the lobby groups and financial backers of the other parties, at local and national levels.

I’m sure there have been a few PFI back handers as well.
