Blackpool Council’s top brass are today sending letters out to staff telling them they are getting massive paycuts or payrises. Apparently the payrises are MAINLY among lower-paid workers. Note the emphasis on mainly, I am probably being paranoid but I think the other ones getting payrises will be the already grossly overpaid directors.
Our useless Chief Executive Steve Weaver has come out with some tripe like ‘pay will be relative to the role’ so that means more money for the directors and cuts for everyone else.
Has noone ever thought do we really need all these overpaid jobsworths in our town hall? Weaver is about as much use as a chocolate fireguard and has no belief in Blackpool. Hardly a great advertisement for a Council Chief Executive. I mean what do half of these people even do, other than take home massive salaries?
His equally overpaid cronies are no better in particular the useless chronically pessimistic Alan Cavill. We pay this guy a huge salary to be involved with regeneration and business development. Yet he is a total pessimist and has no belief in Blackpool.
We could save millions just by downsizing the directors seeing as most of them contribute nothing to Blackpool. They are just bureaucratic creations of a Labour Government.
Blackpool deserves better than these jobsworths. We need people who believe in Blackpool and want to bring Blackpool into the 21st century. Weaver and co are still mourning the supercasino.

I was told yesterday about two officers with similar service doing the same job with the same job description, one has had a £1400 reduction in salary the only difference being she was a women. Sound like a clear case of discrimination or a typical Blackpool cock-up. It will cost the council more than the £1400 in legal cost for the appeal, so where is the saving!!

£138k for Weaver what a joke, this is £40k more than top earning NHS consultants (doctors not jobsworth ‘consultants’) are on. Weaver isn’t even worth a quarter of that huge salary. What on earth justifies such an obscene amount and I am sure he gets countless other perks on top of it. Someone on the Gasjet today said Callow has the power to sack Weaver, well I bloody well wish he would do it because Blackpool deserves better.
