An email from (Not Quite) Blackpool’s Favourite Blogger powered into my mailbox last night alerting me to an article about cash wastage on behalf of the Government in the name of green propaganda. As an avid DevilsKitchen fan I should have read it, however like many I have been suffering the dreaded man flu and been less active on t’internet.
Anyhow, the article alerts us to a video that was commissioned by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) a while ago about Carbon Weevils. I didn’t really get it to be honest. It’s a picturebook story about something or other and I guess it’s telling us we’re all about to expire if we don’t pay the Government more money.
Anyway this video is 7 minutes 11 seconds long and cost a stonking £78,000 to make. This works out at approximately £10,863 of taxpayers cash per minute.
However, Philtheone remembers the bizarre Blackpool publicity videos commissioned by tourism executive Helen France that try to convince European tourists that Blackpool is a continental seaside resort jam-packed with classy establishments. Quite possibly the only thing I can remember that Ms. France has done.
Did you know that the first video, J’aime La Tour, that has thus far received only 66,000 visitors on Youtube, cost £20,000 to make for 1 minute 44 seconds? Oh yes, this is a mind boggling cost of almost £11.5k per minute and blows the DEFRA video out of the water.
Did you know that despite coverage on Sky News, the second video, Love from Blackpool, has only had 5100 views? Epic fail there I’m afraid, Ms France.
But the worst thing of all is our taxes are funding this self-justifying bollocks! Has Blackpool seen a surge in European tourists? Has it fuck.
I think they should do a new video with Helen France doused in pink body paint rolling around in a big pile of used £50 notes totalling £117,000. They could call it J’aime le Cash.

Maybe when they purchase the Tower, the council can call it the Tower of Blackpool after it’s London namesake and implement some ingenious methods of torture for current councillors and executives.
Some examples would be stringing Peter Callow up by his amazing technicolour tie, wiring Lily Henderson up to an “Old Sparky” electric wheelchair and splaying Ian Fowler across a scaffold construction of a Kensington home.

I would fully support those arrangements maybe, the local council tax payer could club together to send a number of the councillors to Paris to visit with Helen, it would have to be a one way ticket because of the economy measures.

The video could have veen made by LOCAL media students as part of a competition for one fraction of the cost; as for Helen Farce, a one way flight over the Atlantic with a concrete parachute is the ideal solution for the queen of profligacy; it would be the pinnacle of her contribution towards Blackpools regeneration, especially if it were videoed and put on U BEND-tube.

This is bad but I still think the billions wasted on regional development agencies and their grossly overpaid jobsworth bosses is a bigger injustice. Steve Broomhead, useless Preston-loving jobsworth he is, is paid £171k nearly as much as the Primeminister and nearly double even the top earning NHS consultants (doctors not non-jobs) it is a disgrace. We could save so much just by axing these wasteful non-causes don’t be conned by Brown’s scaremongering of ‘Tory cuts’ you can’t keep spending when you have bankrupted the country.

3) “Oppressed” minorities who abuse human rights laws to get special favours and evade personal responsibility.
Now Liebour wants to aplly its equality ideology to make us more equal, this will result and already has resulted in special victim statuses for minorities etc and immigrants, who refuse to integrate but want to sponge.
So when liebour say they want equality, in both the social and economic spheres, they have already have, and will continue to create MORE inequality, wrecking this nation from both a social and economic view.They have crucified the working class by removing ambition and flooding them with immigrants who undermine the working classes pay etc.
