It was announced last year that ReBlackpool would be wound up and would be replaced by the Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre Economic Development Company in April 2010.
Yesterday, the Gasjet provided a lovely two page spread about the new all-encompassing super-quango and offered former chief executive of ReBlackpool, Doug Garrett, a platform to detail all of the things that his extinct quango had achieved.
These included the Talbot Gateway, the Wedding Chapel, St. John’s Square, Birley Street lights, St. Chad’s and Waterloo Headlands (complete with BMX/skateboard park) and the Houndshill Centre extension.
But what I found most apt is the final part of the article. It stated;
“A new blog is also being launched so people can see the changes that have already taken place.
To view the blog visit www.blog,reblackpool.com”
For a start the link is wrong because it has a comma in it. A bit pedantic of me to whinge about that, but poor nonetheless, Ms Parkinson. But this is the part I found most amusing;
