Up there on the list of phrases through which people found the site is “hamish howitt is a twat”… :)

That’s it for this stats fest, mainly because I have a hangover.

    • Yeah. I have tried Piwik but it results in the same data presented in a less clear way – and puts a load on my server which I don’t really need.

      • I tried installing piwik but it kept throwing up an error saying my host had the incorrect apache version on the server and it couldn’t talk to it.

        Analytic is good enough (I use the plugin in wordpress and the urchin code on my sites).

        Quick question if I may do you know if you can host up more than one blog to a single mysql database? My hosting only lets me have 2 databases. TBH I have trouble getting my head around the actual function of the mysql and what it actually does.

        • Yes you can.

          If you edit the wp-config.php, you’ll see a line just below the Authentication Unique Keys bit that says:

          $table_prefix = ‘wp_’;

          Change this to something unique. But you need to do this before you install your site.

          So for each WordPress installation, edit wp-config.php and put your database details in. Change the table prefix to something unique and then upload the file to your WP folder. Then run the installer.

          If you want more specifics email me!

  5. Thanks for that, the installer (5 minute version) gives you an option to do that anyway. Will take you up on the mail offer as your knowledge of the platform far exceeds mine.
