Today is the big day Blackpool face Cardiff at Wembley. Now I am not normally a football fan but I have to back the home team when they are doing so well.
The benefits for Blackpool and Bloomfield Rd are endless. It would be a great advertisement for Blackpool having premier league football at Bloomfield Rd, also we will hopefully finally see the completion of Bloomfield Rd and it could stimulate regeneration in Blackpool as a whole.
Also I feel we need it more than Cardiff, they already have a fantastic stadium and they have had billions and billions in regeneration funding unlike Blackpool
But the best thing is I have really noticed town spirit everyone getting together fans and armchair supporters alike.
Best of Luck Blackpool, you can do it!!!
UP THE POOL!!!!

Absolutely TB, a win today will do an awful lot for marketing Blackpool and rebuilding the final stand at Bloomfield Road.
loading...
Well said, it is a win win situation all round and it would really bring everyone together if we win today.

here here !

My young lad (gone down with friends) is seated inside the stadium of dreams as I type!!
How come Cardiff get a big feck of screen in the town centre to watch it on while we get bog all?

Anything to do with the BBC having a huge base in the town? Glad to see they are not to fussy when they spend licence payers money!!

I bet there will be a “PREMIERSHIP HOTEL” in Blackpool pretty soon !
And it will be full most weekends.
Congratulations to the Team and Supporters
loading...
Indeed, now lets see the council act accordingly (like a premier council) and bring in the much needed investment to sort out the town.

HOLLOWAY4MAYOR!

Well done Blackpool, fantastic result. Congratulations lads you have done our town proud. UP THE POOL!!!
Well said Harold, this the start of something good for Blackpool, now lets take advantage of this wonderful situation.
loading...
Here here TB! by celebrating pools success and the exit of Liebour!
(champagne corks popping in the background!!!)
loading...
Well said Harold, the only downer is we didn’t jettison our useless Liebour MP in Blackpool South. But this is some good news in consolation. UP THE MIGHTY POOL!!!!
loading...
Tower Power!!!
loading...
At least we didn’t get Kensington Clanger.

Great Achievement and we can only begin to imagine what this means for the town going forward.
An excellent case can now be made both to re-instate a London Blackpool air route and a similar direct rail route.
You should all have a read of Ian Holloways wiki page. Clearly it is he that gave the team the confidence it needed to achieve..
He has twin daughters both of whom are ‘profoundly deaf’ as is his youngest daughter. (all gene related).
I think it is a mark of the man in how active he is in supporting deaf charities..
Maybe just maybe we have found the ideal candidate for MP for Blackpool South at the next GE
Given he has either played for or managed two other English clubs that I have been close to in my life I feel a real affinity with him this evening.

Brilliant result for the Tangerine Army. UP THE POOL!
I am looking forward to the boost this will have on the local economy, especially bringing in extra income from away fans who will no doubt rack up the stands next season.
loading...
Thats the rub.. The ground is not to Premiership Standard…. There is a strict set of rules that have to be applied because of the Heysal. Hillsborough and Bradford disasters.
Can the required improvements be made prior to the Season opening? I doubt it…
Wasn’t there some mention of them playing their home games at PNE?
Good news is funding for those improvements will not be a problem as Blackpool will have greater access to the Sky money….

About to scoff a hotel fry up then set off back to Blackpool, after a severe liver battering all day yesterday. Was a brilliant day yesterday, almost cried when Holloway lifted the cup! Got loads of pictures for you as well.
Apparently Oystons going to OK the East Stand today.
Looking at the mass of tangerine you can see how much desire there is for Blackpool to get back in the big time. Now lets get the same drive behind the town itself.
There are parallels between Blackpool’s success and the council. Blackpool FC changed the manager and with largely the same team and money have done loads better. So can we change Weaver/Callow now?
loading...
Yes get rid of these 2 morons with IMMEDIATE effect!
loading...
Sounds excellent Phil, I look forward to seeing the pictures
loading...
Do u mean the pictures of Steve Weaver getting sacked? lol
That I would love to see, TB.
loading...
Ian Fowler wants the team to wear pink…
loading...
Ian Fowler is scum of the highest order.
loading...
Harold, watch out or the correction police will be deporting you to that land they can’t deport terrorists…
loading...
lol cheers mate,to recap:IAN FOWLER IS SCUM!

Great result for the Pool. however does the town deserve premeirship football with the pathetic gates BFC get week in week out? next season all pool home games will feel like away games with away fans outnumbering pool fans (same as early seventies)
Sorry to say it but, I think Sunderlands record low points tally of 19 ( I think) for a premiership season is likely to be under real threat next season.
ITS A GRAND OLD TEAM TO PLAY FOR
ITS A GRAND OLD TO TEAM TO SUPPORT

Who cares, we are enjoying our day in the sun.
loading...
You might be right, but if you’re going to go down the route of attendances, the likes of Bolton don’t get much more. Where do you cut it off?
loading...
Personally I think the attendances at Bloomfield Rd will magically rocket now we have Premiership football on. Anyway Karl Oyston must now keep his word on building the East Stand, no excuses.
loading...
Indeed and the council needs to get its act together,Holloway has done more for the town than the 7 intellectual dwarfs put together weaver, france, cavill, callow(s),garrett, fouler,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
