I’ve been browsing through the UK Polling Report website and it seems the consensus there is that the Liberal Democrat surge will only be serving to assist Ron Bell in his quest to become a member of Parliament.

I suppose the Liberal Democrat mantra does shadow that of Labour, and whilst Tory voters may like Nick Clegg they do not like his socialist policies. I also believe that the footage of the riots in Greece will swing some people towards the Conservatives, because this is a sneak preview of what another term of Labours ignorant borrowing will create and illustrates the dangers of Nick Clegg’s love-in with Europe. Whilst we put our votes into the ballot box, Athens is burning.

Gordon Brown of course has self destructed with ‘Bigotgate’ and I think we will see him slowly disappear out of politics following this election.

Hopefully Labour will feel the vengeance of the voters whose pensions they have robbed, whose savings they have taxed and whom they have treated with contempt. Seek revenge against this Government and vote against the Labour candidate, and we will never see Handy Mandy again!

Latest update: I’ve been and voted at Highfield School and there were a few Labour plebs visible walking out of Gordon Marsden’s constituency office, which unsurprisingly is plastered with pictures urging people to vote for him. He has also organised several Socialist Wagons to go round picking up benefits claiming Labour voters that are too lazy eating crisps and watching Jeremy Kyle to walk to the polling station.

  1. As an addition, I will say that Ron Bell has been by far the most active in terms of publicity. I have received at least 8 communications from the Conservatives, compared with one from Labour, one Lib Dem, one UKIP, one Integrity UK, one BNP.

I can’t ‘belize’ it that the other parties haven’t been bombarding the constituency with propaganda.

  3. Great article Phil, this is what I am hoping for, most people I have spoke to who have ditched Labour have turned to the Lib Dems. I am one of those you speak of, I have been very impressed with Mr Clegg in the debates but I am not fond of some of the Lib Dems more left-wing/socialist leanings. I agree about the campaigning. I have had the same number of leaflets but I have had NO leaflets from the BNP, Integrity UK or the Lib Dems. I really want to hear what these parties have to say as well. Well anyhow its the big day tommorow, and I am quite certain I will back the Conservatives, more as a tactical vote than anything to get Labour out. No more Brown, no more Mandelson, happy days. Its just a shame some of the slimiest, smarmiest toads in Liebour are all in rock solid safe seats like Andy Burnham, the Miliband Brothers, Ed Balls etc. LABOUR OUT 2010 MARSDEN OUT 2010

  4. Well what was it that Labour was spouting? Oh yes, flirt with Nick Clegg and you’ll end up married to David Cameron. Whilst it’s hard to imagine flirting or marrying any of the leaders, I must say that Gordon Brown would be likely to be a turn off whilst David Cameron for all his wet ways looks ok and has lots of money – the sort of person you’d rather marry than a permanently jaw chewing Scot (it’s as if he’s going to drool any second) who has a strange grinning in inappropriate circumstances disorder.
Please all get out and vote tomorrow – for whoever you think will do the least damage and won’t leave us in a mess like Greece.

  5. Obviously the conservatives (Ron BELL) where unable to get their message across in just one leaflet, they have had to resort to the destruction of a rain forest in an attempt to convince the electorate.

It may of been more simpler in the long run to concentrate on the hard facts facing this country instead of treating us all like idiots and feeding us all with waffle and propaganda, a public meeting would of certainly been more effective, but of course Ron Bell decline the invitation, would the issue over the donation from Kensington had anything to do with it.

Today in the gazette Minister for pensions Yvette Cooper stated if Labour are triumphant in the polls tomorrow she promised to bring more jobs for young people to the area, how come, after 13 years of bad management by Labour,on the eve of the General Election and Labour are about to be evicted from no10, this attempt by Yvette Cooper to bribe the electorate in Blackpool with the hope of future employment just proves how rotten and deceitful Labour really are, after all they really haven,t delivered anything for the people of Blackpool during their administration, what has change, the outcome is too close to call.

    • I agree Petrer, Labour have a habit of doing that. They bring the country to its knees for 13 years and then when its election time they suddenly start making all these grand promises we all know they won’t deliver anyway. If they are so adamant about doing things then why didn’t they do them in the last 13 years instead of destroying our economy and country.

  7. I can only go on my own experience and I’ve emailed all the candidates for interviews and only Ron Bell has come back to me and given me a detailed interview and he did it the same day I emailed him, the other two candidates have failed to respond.

  8. The results from the last general election were probably the core votes for all three main parties in Blackpool South. There fore a Lib Dem surge amongst previous non voters or independents will not help Ron Bell. The Conservatives were relying on attracting Lib Dem votes as well as previous non voters, UKIPs or independents. It doesn’t look like they exist so I think the Lib Dems will overtake the Tories in Blackpool South.

Likewise, in Blackpool North, the LD surge could help Labour by preventing Paul Maynard from a well earned victory.

Whatever the result, I can’t for the next Blackpool Council Elections!

  9. Everyone now loves Ron Bell! Pity they have never worked alongside him as this letter writer seems to have done. http://fylde-bootnecks.blogspot.com/2010/04/brown-gaffe-protects-blackpool.html. The shame is that none of the devious three in the Lib-Lab-Con tricksters are worth a X on a ballot paper.

But I better be careful what I say about Liebour because according to that Jonny Dade, we are ‘far right bigots’ just because we slag Labour off!!! What a load of cobblers. MARSDEN OUT 2010

  10. A young man named Gordon bought a donkey from an old farmer for £100.

The farmer agreed to deliver the donkey the next day, but when the farmer drove up he said, “Sorry son, but I have some bad news… the donkey is on my truck, but unfortunately he’s dead. Gordon replied, “Well then, just give me my money back.”

The farmer said, “I can’t do that, because I’ve spent it already. Gordon said, “OK then, well just unload the donkey anyway. The farmer asked, “What are you going to do with him?” Gordon answered, “I’m going to raffle him off.”

To which the farmer exclaimed, “Surely you can’t raffle off a dead donkey!”

But Gordon, with a wicked smile on his face said, “Of course I can, you watch me. I just won’t bother to tell anybody that he’s dead.” A month later the farmer met up with Gordon and asked, “What happened with that dead donkey?”

Gordon said, “I raffled him off, sold 500 tickets at two pounds a piece, and made a huge, fat profit!!”

Totally amazed, the farmer asked, “Didn’t anyone complain that you had stolen their money because you lied about the donkey being dead?” To which Gordon replied, “The only guy who found out about the donkey being dead was the raffle winner when he came to claim his prize. So I gave him his £2 raffle ticket money back plus an extra £200, which as you know is double the going rate for a donkey, so he thought I was great guy!!

Gordon grew up and eventually became the Chancellor of the Exchequer, and no matter how many times he lied, or how much money he stole from the British voters, as long as he gave them back some of the stolen money, most of them, unfortunately, still thought he was a great guy.

The moral of this story is that, if you think Gordon is about to play fair and do something for the everyday people of the country for once in his miserable, lying life, think again my friend, because you’ll be better off flogging a dead donkey.

  11. It is a crying shame that the Cons put up such a caring candidate in Blackpool South(sic). Having walked the streets for the real conservatives and stood as part of the local Party, it grieves me intensely to say I have no trust whatsoever in a party that can condone the local actions of the likes of Ian Fowler, Mr First Classs Only travel. What is as bad I saw his wife walk away and do nothing whilst children vandalised the toilet in Highfield park. Isn’t she on the Blackpool Police committee?
It pitiful that all the political spin proves thus, as with Lieber’s 13 years of treachery, to be just a CON for those drowning in dogma.
