Well said Phil, but I think you made a very brave move, if you look at how childish and bitter PNE fans are on the LEP site they can get very nasty and very personal. Why can't they see its just a game for god sake.

lol. If it makes any difference I parked my car on Winckley Square in Preston the other week with two Blackpool FC flags attached to it.

They don't like it up 'em!

I feel I must make a comment on this; something I saw in town today shocked me and made me laugh at the same time. I was walking through St Johns Square when a Stagecoach decorated in full PNE livery drove past, literally the whole bus was decked out in 'Proud Preston' etc etc. I thought to myself are the bus routers off their bloody heads especially considering the current situation!!!! Best of luck on Saturday BFC UP THE POOL!!!

There's certainly a mood for optimism in Blackpool. Of course Marsden's re-election was a disaster but the other two people didn't campaign anything like enough to deserve the seat.

Blackpool's surge into the play-off final could be a massive step in the history of the club, but it's easy to get carried away. Cardiff and Blackpool were all-square at 1-1 in their last two meetings.

You might like to read a match report of the last game against Nottingham Forest that I (pretty much) wrote here:

http://blackpoolaloud.org.uk/magazine/2010/05/12/dj-campbell-fires-blackpool-in-to-the-play-off-final/

As for Cameron and Clegg they seem like an amusing double-act so far, and I look forward to see how things like PMQ's pans out with Clegg afforded two questions to ask Dave. Will he ask them? I'm not sure how it's going to work, since there can't be much for him to ask that he doesn't already know about, and its not in his interest to embarrass or humiliate Dave either.

Same here, I despaired at the thought of Labour forming a coalition and driving the country even further into the ground. But what annoys me now is that Mr Cameron and Mr Clegg and their respective parties will have to be brutal (for the right reasons) and people will whine and moan and vote Labour back in to bankrupt the country again. People have to accept the concept of 'no pain no gain'.

I do feel a lot more optimistic about things since the coalition was announced I must say. A Labour victory where the necessary cuts were avoided could have bankrupted the country - then we would all know just how terrible cuts can get.
I also feel a bit buoyed up that George Osborne will have some Lib Dem input as I really did doubt his capabilities despite his city experience - given his connections and background I doubt he had to be any good to get a job in the City.
