I thought the scandal associated with the Kensingtongate saga had been brought to an end following the donations verdicts from the Standards Board for England. But it rumbles on.
Following the approval by the Conservative-biased council, the plans have now been submitted to the north west regional assembly who will according to Peter Callow have to come up with a “very good reason” to overturn the approval.
I guess this isn’t news, but I thought you might like to be aware of a Taxpayers’ Alliance report that shows the salaries and pay rises handed to top council officials.

It’s been proposed that St. John’s square will become a den of crime if buses and taxis are banned from it.
It came as absolutely no surprise to discover that the source was a taxi driver. By the second sentence the story is already a non-tangible fail, but it’s the start of the week so I’ll assault it a little more.

We’ve seen Blackpool tarting the town up with hoardings in empty shops but up on Tyneside the council have thought of an even better scheme.
Fake shop fronts.
And I’m not joking.
The mythical beast that is the Talbot Gateway is edging closer to planning approval, and once again I have to question whether this is really the way Blackpool can progress.
There are many questions that must be asked about this project, mostly about the practicality and foresight that has gone into it.
It’s no secret that Blackpool is one of the most expensive towns to park in the UK, but despite this, parking charges are to increase by up to 200% under the stewardship of Ian Fowler.

An email from (Not Quite) Blackpool’s Favourite Blogger powered into my mailbox last night alerting me to an article about cash wastage on behalf of the Government in the name of green propaganda.
