It’s hard to imagine that Fleetwood, a once busy and thriving fishing port, actually had 2 railway stations and a direct rail link to London; hence the name of the North Euston Hotel.

Penny Martin, erstwhile LCC Labour councillor has thrown her hat in the ring to become Labour’s PPC in my area, Wyre. Now much as I despise the Labour party, Penny was a damn good councillor. For example she was the only councillor to attend the Area Action Plan (AAP) meetings at the Marine Hall in Fleetwood last year. She always (where possible) attended local strategic forum meetings in Thornton.
I’m pleased to announce what will hopefully become a regular feature, and that is a Fylde Community Radio update.
You may have heard of Fylde FM before, indeed I have written about it, but Fylde Community Radio is nothing to do with it. It is the freedom-unlocked brainchild of none other than Steven Bate, and before you jump in and say that it’s bound to be a just a Liberal Democrat political platform I think you should listen to it first before drawing such conclusions.
Police have today come out with another load of complete bollocks. They’ve told Wyre residents to be neighbourly with the travellers that have pitched up on land nearby.
That’s really going to calm the situation down isn’t it, officer?

Judging by the volume of traffic headed to the article I wrote about news of a new political party, this should hopefully be what you’ve been waiting for.
It’s been in the making a while but rising from the ashes of a disillusioned Fylde UKIP membership comes Integrity: a party that offers something a bit different from pretty much any party I can think of.
Disgruntled council tax payers have often muttered about the lengths their council will go to in order to extract cash from them. This is no more apparent than in Fylde: residents are quite rightly enraged about the underhand, number-fiddling methods employed by John Coombes’ apparat in order to raise their council tax.

In a bizarre turn, a horde of 300 people have come out in vocal support of knicker-sniffing former mayor of Preesall, Ian Stafford.
This man – a local handyman by day – was convicted of stealing ladies underwear and wanking himself off with them. And now a group of women want to let him out? The mind boggles.

It’s all in the title, really. If you’ve not checked the Gasjet recently they’re spamming their front page with this.
Supposedly they have failed to carry out sufficient risk assessment. Surely though, that is a process that can be completed and then plans can be resubmitted.
